Knickerbocker is an American designer clothing label for men, founded in New York in 2013 by Andrew Livingston. Livingston had been making hats with a 60-year-old factory on the border of Brooklyn and Queens when the owner offered to sell him the space. Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, he and friends Daniel McRorie and Kyle Mosholder set up Knickerbocker Manufacturing Co. there, making clothing for other labels while building their own. The collection blends classic American style with workwear, military and outdoor references, covering shirts such as the Pacific Corduroy Shirt, Miles pleated trousers and suit jackets, Harbor Twill Pants, coats, knitwear, tees, sweatshirts, K102 jeans and caps. After closing the New York factory in 2018, Livingston moved most production to family-owned mills and factories in Northern Portugal. Watch caps are still made in the USA and alpaca sweaters in Peru, with fabrics sourced from Japan and Europe. Pieces use mainly cotton and wool, and its manufacturing partners hold certifications including GOTS, OCS, GRS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. In 2021 Knickerbocker opened its flagship store on Canal and Wooster Street in Soho, and it also has a store in Melbourne.
