Electric Feathers is an American designer, minimalist luxury clothing label for women and men, founded in New York in 2007 by Leana Zuñiga. A Southern California native whose Peruvian grandmother was a seamstress and whose parents were artists, Zuñiga styled film and theatre and ran the Alphabet City vintage store La Reina before launching the label. Her collections are known for versatile, sculptural silhouettes, unique textiles and timeless elegance, with convertible pieces that invite the wearer to explore their possibilities. The range includes dresses, kaftans, jumpsuits, tops, vests, pants, shorts, skirts, jackets and coats, plus belts. Signature pieces include the rope-tied convertible dresses, the Dynasty Kaftan, the Convertible Paros Dress, the Infinite Genie Jumpsuit, the Cuffed Pantaloon, the Envelope Coat and the Abacus II Belt. The clothing is made in the USA. Zuñiga uses only natural fabrics and conscientious, waste-free production, and most collections are now made to order. Over the years its women's and men's or unisex collections have stayed effortless and functional. Electric Feathers has shown collections reviewed by Vogue, was featured in Interview magazine's 15 Faces of 2015, and has built a dedicated following in international creative communities.

Marine Serre is a French luxury designer label for women and men, founded in Paris in 2016 by designer Marine Serre. A graduate of La Cambre in Brussels who worked at Balenciaga, Serre builds her collections around what the brand calls the Regenerated Rule: rethinking how fashion is made by giving existing materials a new life. The label is best known for its crescent Moon print, used on second-skin tops and leggings, ribbed tanks, knitwear and dresses. It also makes upcycled pieces from end-of-life garments and deadstock fabrics, leather such as the Glossy Moon Leather Perfecto, bags, jewellery, footwear and hats. About half of each show is made from upcycled materials and the rest mostly from certified and recycled fibres. Upcycled materials are sourced in Europe, then sorted, washed and treated at its Paris headquarters before going to manufacturing partners in Europe, and each upcycled piece carries a label stating its material, origin and place of transformation. Marine Serre won the LVMH Prize in 2017, has collaborated with Under Armour and French chairmaker Chaisor, and opened its first store in South Korea with a partner.

KikoRomeo is a Kenyan designer label, founded in Nairobi in 1996 by designer Ann McCreath. Born in Scotland, McCreath studied fashion in Rome and worked as a designer in Barcelona before aid work in Kenya led her to choose trade over aid. Named after the Swahili for "Adam's apple", the label creates sustainable, often unisex clothing that transcends cultures and trends and is designed for longevity. The range includes jumpsuits such as the Bumi, Maridadi and Samawati Jumpsuits, overalls like the Blinky Overalls, workman jackets and hand-painted coats. Some coats are hand-painted by Sudanese fine artist Eltayeb Dawelbait and made from cotton industrial waste. KikoRomeo is made in Kenya with handmade and hand-dyed fabrics and hand-carved trims sourced from the African continent, mainly in cotton, silk and linen. Fair trade since it began, it was set up to create jobs in rural areas, working with community artisans and women's groups. McCreath also founded the Festival of African Fashion and Arts (FAFA) in 2008. The independent label has shown across Africa, Europe and the USA, including at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Johannesburg.

Kente Gentlemen is an Ivorian designer label for men and women, founded in Abidjan in 2017 by Aristide Loua, its creative director. Having lived in Côte d'Ivoire, India and across the United States, Loua built the brand around his love of handwoven kente cloth. Its aesthetic balances colour, poetry and culture: "Color is the emotion. Poetry is the messenger. Culture is my voice." The range includes shirts such as the Tema, pants like the Misa, jackets and overcoats like the Ella, suit jackets such as the Pervenche, trench coats like the Morelle, and skirts, plus accessories. Signature tailoring comes in bold, royal colours. Every piece is made to order in the brand's in-house ateliers in Côte d'Ivoire. Kente Gentlemen works directly with artisans across Côte d'Ivoire and West Africa who handweave its textiles in small batches, sometimes taking weeks, using linen, organic cotton and silk, including hand tie-dyed cotton from Bassam. The independent label made its Lagos Fashion Week debut in 2023, moving further into womenswear, and has been covered by Vogue and OkayAfrica. It runs a showroom in Abidjan.

After more than 45 years of exploring fibres and techniques, the house still focuses on impeccable handwoven knitwear and a transparent production chain. Pepa Pombo by Mónica Holguín opened Colombiamoda in 2017. The brand remains an independent, family-run house.

Deadwood Studios is a Swedish upcycled leather label for men and women, founded in Stockholm in 2012 by Carl Ollson and Felix von Bahder. The pair met working together in a Stockholm jeans shop and went on to open their own store, mixing curated vintage with up-and-coming brands. When they struggled to find leather jackets they liked and could afford, they began making their own from vintage garments, and Deadwood was born. As chief designer, von Bahder aims to create timeless designs that age well. The label makes leather and suede jackets, coats, pants, shirts, dresses, shorts, bags and caps, with many unisex styles. Pieces include the River Biker Jacket, the Angel Slim Jacket, the Romy Oversized Jacket, the Ellis Oversized Leather Parka, the Stanley Blazer and the Drama Leather Dress. Deadwood makes its collections from production leftovers, rejected skins, deadstock materials and factory offcuts, and its vision is for 80% of its materials to be recycled or upcycled. It also uses plant-based alternatives such as Cactus leather and Fine Mycelium. The independent brand has been featured in Vogue, the Financial Times and The New York Times.

Lanhtropy is an American linen clothing label for women, founded in Miami in 2016 by Ani Ponce de León. After working in fashion retail and at a trading company, she moved to Miami and, inspired by its beach life and natural beauty, set out to create high-quality linen pieces that blend comfort, style and ethical practice. The result is a relaxed, chic collection inspired by sun, sea and sand, designed for a free and active lifestyle. Its linen range includes the Bubble Linen Shirt and Dress, the Piano Piano Linen Dress, the Sabi and Emilia linen pants and the Frida linen shorts, many in its own prints. For cooler weather it makes knits, suede and leather pieces such as the Otto knitted vest, the Emma merino poncho and the Tundra leather jacket. Most clothing is made in Vietnam with a family-owned production house led by skilled seamstresses, where the brand says it pays fair wages, with some pieces made in China and India. Its core fabric is 100% natural linen. Years later, back in Uruguay, Ponce de León opened a store there and launched Lanhtropy's first winter collection. The independent brand now sells online internationally.

Clothing is made in China, and the brand's affection for vintage garments shapes collections that draw on decades of inspiration. The Garment encourages mindful buying, promoting investment in well-made, durable pieces over impulsive trends, using materials such as organic cotton, merino wool, lyocell and recycled polyester. Its first collection, Chapter One: Wall Street, launched in September 2020 at The Frankie Shop, and the brand has been featured by LuisaViaRoma's LVRSustainable. The vertically integrated atelier follows a zero-waste policy, turning offcuts into patchwork pieces, rag weave, accessories and home goods, and only produces what customers order. Marrakshi Life has been featured by WWD and Wallpaper*, has been sold through retailers such as Matches Fashion, and in 2026 expanded into handwoven homewares in alpaca and merino wool.

Creative director Zain Ahmad grew up in London, Toronto, Vancouver and Lahore, and designs from a deeply personal perspective, mixing Eastern prints with Western silhouettes to challenge stereotypes and redefine what "Made in Pakistan" means. The label makes T-shirts such as its Made in PAK tees, hoodies, sweatshirts, button-down shirts, jackets, long coats, trousers and shorts, plus caps, totes and tapestries. Everything is made in Pakistan with artisans from across the subcontinent. Rastah describes itself as a social enterprise supporting underserved artisans, designers and technical workers. Its jacket fabrics are woven on traditional Pakistani hand looms, prints are made with hand-carved wooden blocks by its in-house printer, and many pieces feature patchwork or hand embroidery, reinterpreting fading crafts for a younger audience. Rastah has been featured by Vogue, Forbes, Hypebeast and VICE, and actor Riz Ahmed has worn its Notoriety twill jacket.

DAWN x DARE is a sustainable European designer knitwear label for women, founded in Copenhagen in 2016 by Charlotte Vadum and Vibeke Bernhoft. The pair, who had run the commercial fashion brand Project AJ117 together since 2005, wanted to create something more timeless and exclusive. The name reflects styles to wear in the morning, Dawn, and when going out at night, Dare. The label brings hand knitting into a modern universe with pullovers, cardigans, short-sleeve knits, tops, dresses and skirts in bold colours and textures, plus woven shirts, pants and scarves. Its knits are made in Italy by a community of women who knit and crochet by hand from their homes in the hills of Tuscany. DAWN x DARE uses certified, traceable Italian yarns such as mohair, kid mohair and GOTS-certified organic cotton, with animal fibres sourced under the Responsible Animal Fiber Standard. Since 2020 it has made a numbered limited-edition capsule from deadstock yarns, with each one-of-a-kind piece taking two to three days to knit. The brand has shown at the Revolver fair in Copenhagen since its launch and is stocked in high-end multibrand boutiques and showrooms across Europe and Australia.
