MiaKoda

is a designer clothing brand founded in 2013 by sisters Julia Ahrens and Laura Ahrens in New York City, born from the duo's inability to find clothing that was simultaneously eco-friendly, vegan, ethically made in the USA, and genuinely comfortable. Julia, a Parsons School of Design graduate who previously worked at Zac Posen, and Laura, a yoga instructor with a holistic wellness perspective, created the brand after their shared yoga practice deepened their commitment to living mindfully and compassionately. Both founders live with chronic illnesses, which makes comfortable dressing not a preference but a necessity, and this deeply personal understanding informs every Miakoda design — from buttery-soft fabrics and stretchy waistbands to relaxed silhouettes that move with the body. The brand is entirely vegan, made in Brooklyn, and designed to provide the mental ease that comes from knowing your clothing was made without harm to people, animals, or the planet.
