is founded in 2019 by New York-based designer Lili Chemla, who had previously launched a brand called Liana in 2017, using it as a testing ground before relaunching with a sharper, more refined vision. This designer clothing brand was born out of Chemla's personal frustration with wearing stiff jeans to work all day only to want to change the moment she got home, and she built the label around a simple premise: clothing that is comfortable enough to wear at home but polished enough to wear out. The name is a play on the French term for "The Set," reflecting the brand's core offering of elevated, mix-and-match coordinates in clean lines and neutral palettes. Within weeks of its October 2019 launch, Leset had already been worn by Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, and Kacey Musgraves, and it has since grown into a self-funded brand with revenues reported in the tens of millions.
