Sergio Hudson

Hudson is born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, where he developed a love of fashion at age four and learned sewing from his mother, who was a tailor. He studied design at Bauder College and in 2013 won Bravo TV's fashion competition Styled to Rock, with his designs chosen by executive producer Rihanna, earning him the prize money to launch his namesake designer clothing brand in 2014, which was formally re-established in 2016 with business partner Inga Beckham. Known for immaculate tailoring, power dressing, and a masterful use of color and silhouette, the brand is crafted entirely in the USA. Hudson made history dressing both Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris for the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, and has since been nominated for a CFDA Award for American Womenswear Designer of the Year.
