evam eva is a Japanese knitwear and clothing label for women and men, founded in Yamanashi in 2001 by Kazuya Kondo and designer Naoko Kondo. The couple launched it through Naoko's family knitwear company, Kondo Knit, which dates back to 1945, to replace the company's contract manufacturing with a brand of its own. The brand creates simple, natural-fibre clothing designed to stay close to the wearer and make everyday life comfortable. It is best known for soft knitwear, including cashmere turtlenecks, cardigans, parkas and robes, cotton cashmere pullovers and shirts, and high-twist wool knits. The range also includes press wool coats and vests, quilted jackets and pants, cupro silk one-pieces, cotton narrow pants, cashmere stoles and snoods, and a men's line. evam eva designs, produces and sells its clothing itself, with garments made at its own factory in Ichikawamisato, Yamanashi. It works with natural materials such as cashmere, wool, linen, cotton and recycled cotton. The brand is owned by Kondo Knit Co., Ltd., the family-run company led by Kazuya Kondo. Its evam eva yamanashi complex combines a clothing shop, restaurant and gallery, and it has other stores in Japan and an online shop.
