About

Metiseko is a sustainable Vietnamese designer clothing label for women and men, founded in Hoi An in 2011 by French couple Erwan Perzo and Florence Mussou. Taken by the local customs and landscapes of Vietnam's central coast, the founders set out to capture the essence of the country in original prints, creating a European-chic line with an East-meets-West spirit. The collection includes women's dresses, tops, jumpsuits, pants, skirts and kimono jackets, men's shirts, pants and jackets, and silk scarves, ties, bags, jewellery, cushion covers and fabric by the metre. Garments are made in Vietnam in its own sewing workshop, where one tailor creates each piece from start to finish and signs the label in pencil. As a slow fashion brand, Metiseko partners with local artisans. Its 100% mulberry silk is produced locally, supporting traditional silk making in Bao Loc, then dyed with non-toxic dyes and hand screen printed by local craftsmen. Its GOTS-certified organic cotton comes from India and is dyed and printed with a partner near Saigon using reactive dyes. Metiseko has been featured by ELLE Vietnam, Vietcetera and Oi Vietnam for its sustainable, locally made approach to fashion.

The Handloom

USA · Est. 2014 · Mid-range

The Handloom is a sustainable, handmade clothing label for women, founded in Los Angeles in 2014 by Cansu Cansever. A self-taught designer who previously worked in the arts in Los Angeles, she started the label to link Turkey's traditional weaving craft with modern life in the US. The result is relaxed, slow-fashion clothing designed for everyday ease and summer. The range includes maxi and mini dresses, shirts, tops, pants, shorts, kimonos, kaftans and matching sets. Signature pieces include the Aura Low Back Maxi Dress, the Muse Braided Straps Dress, the Lucid Flow Shirt and the Kaya Drawstring Pants. Every piece is hand-loomed in Turkey by artisan partners, many in remote villages, using fabrics created exclusively for the brand from 100% Turkish cotton, organic cotton and Tencel. Hand-loomed production is the label's most important value, and it works on fair trade principles, prioritising safe, clean working conditions and a transparent answer to the question "Who made my clothes?" The Handloom remains independent and founder-led. It has no store of its own and is sold through many retailers around the world, with its main office in Los Angeles.

Lapointe

United States · Est. 2015 · Luxury

is founded in 2015 by creative director Sally LaPointe and CEO Sarah Adelson, best friends who met while studying at the Rhode Island School of Design and built this designer clothing brand quite literally from the floor of their shared TriBeCa loft in their early twenties. LaPointe had a background in fine arts and graduated with a BFA in apparel design from RISD in 2006, while Adelson brought experience in production. The brand attracted the attention of Lady Gaga, who wore its black corseted dress to the International Consumer Electronics Show and has remained a loyal fan ever since. Known for bold monochromatic palettes, head-to-toe sets, and statement dressing made effortlessly easy, the brand was originally called Sally LaPointe before being rebranded to simply LaPointe in 2020 to support its evolution into a full lifestyle brand. LaPointe joined the CFDA in 2015 and received the FGI Rising Star Award that same year, and has since dressed Oprah Winfrey, Zendaya, and Beyonce.

Merlette

United States · Est. 2016 · Luxury

is founded in 2016 by Australian-born designer Marina Cortbawi, who previously served as international sales manager for Oscar de la Renta and director of international sales at Carolina Herrera before recognizing a gap in the market for elevated everyday pieces suited to travel. She enrolled at Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion for fashion design training, then traveled to India to develop fabrics and embroideries before launching this designer clothing brand. Named after a mythical bird in constant movement, and a symbol of the jetsetter in English heraldry, the Brooklyn-based atelier is known for its signature Soliman tiered dress, all-natural high-quality materials, and bespoke finishes such as hand embroidery and smocking. The first celebrity to wear the brand was Vanessa Hudgens, and the label remains beloved for pieces designed to make women feel elegant and at ease.
